Police Arrest Man for Fourth Offense DWI

SEPTEMBER 2011, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana—A Louisiana State Trooper received a phone call from a concerned motorist reporting a reckless driver on Interstate 10. Troopers tried to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to stop. After a 6 mile pursuit, troopers stopped the vehicle. The driver, Gerald J. Kowal of Flagstaff, Arizona appeared to be impaired and troopers placed him under arrest. After being taken to State Police Troop D, Mr. Kowai refused a chemical test.

Ex-Portsmouth Driving Instructor Arrested

AUGUST 2011, Portsmouth, New Hampshire—A former high school driving instructor who was previously convicted of drunken driving charges and faces a pending DWI charge has now been arrested on an alcohol-related charges of driving while his license was suspended. 63-year-old Bruce Syphers of Greenland was arrested in the parking lot of the Sheraton Harborside Hotel in Portsmouth.
